I remember hearing an expression with the words 'stick' and 'shovel'
in it, but I've never heard it again and don't know what it really
means. I'd also like to know if it's a common expression.
Thanks!!

I think I've heard my great aunt use the saying "like shoveling with a
stick" for something that will take a long time or that's too
difficult to do.

There's "it sticks like sh.t to a shovel", which is contradicted by "it goes
like sh.t off a shovel"; and I prefer "it sticks like sh.t to a blanket",
anyway.

Erm...
That doesn't sound good.
Kindly disregard this posting.

New Year's Day - time for a joke...

A bear meets a rabbit in the woods and they get to chatting.
The bear says, 'Do you ever find that sh.t sticks to your fur?'
The rabbit replies, 'Oh yes, all the time.'
So the bear says 'Great', picks the rabbit up and wipes his arse with it.

Sorry about that

Was it something like  "...as excrement adheres to a digging implement" ?
