American English or British English?

The American Heritage Book of English Usage: http://www.bartleby.com/64/
A very good dictionary at that site, too.

Some books, some stories, all free: http://www.baen.com/library/
All science fiction; some not really suitable for younger folks.

Lots of books, several genres, free on-line: http://digital.library.upenn.edu/books/

Lots of links to science fiction stories on line: http://www.freesfonline.de/

Note: none of these sites does piracy; every book is on line
legitimately, with the permission of the holder of the e-rights.
