Thunder and lightening (Daily Telegraph)

There's been some heavy rain in London today. I think it must have
affected the subs at the Daily Telegraph's website:

"A Met Office forecasters said: "There have been some pretty
torrential downpours with thunder and lightening and a bit of hail. It
has caused a few localised problems that we have been made aware of."

Well, lightning causes brief lightening of the sky, doesn't it?
