Some of you are probably are sick and tired of hearing this from me --
but I really would like to know some decent books. I like mystery
novels, crimes novel, and few others.
Stuff I don't want in novels are sex, politics, and I would like
simple plot.
Can anyone list some modern writers?
Thanks for your help.

If you are looking for reasonably literate mystery novels, you will find
suggestions at the Matters Criminous web site:
http://matterscriminous.com/
If you have any interest in speculative fiction (fantsay or science
fiction), you will find copious recommendations for particularly literate
authors and works at the Great Science-Fiction & Fantasy Works web site:
http://greatsfandf.com/
Full disclosure: I maintain (using the word loosely) both.

I was kidding about this one. It's full of sex, politics, and has a
complicated plot.

It's a simple story of retribution, mm. Old Leffingwell, the baddy,
gets zapped in the end, and almost everybody else lives happily ever
after.
