Has anyone seen Purl Gurl?  If she handed in her notice, I didn't see
it.  Did someone give her her P45, and have her escorted from the
premises by security?

Let sleeping dogs lie, please.

I know, I know, don't prod a sleeping bear etc.  However, she was
nothing if not incorrigibly vociferous here for some time,  and then
nothing since March 6.  I was worried she might be ill.  Her website
is, as far as I can tell, unchanged.

When is she coming back?  I'm dying to meet her, having heard so much about
her.  Although, with a name like "Purl Girl", she must be a bit of a knit.

More of a knit-wit, actually.

If you want to know, just go to Google Groups, and put the name in the
search window. Do not, please, wish her back on us: she was poisonous,
but not interesting. One felt one ought to be sorry for her, but at the
same time she made it hard to summon up sympathy.

No worries.  I could just tell her to shut the f.ck up.

Apparently this doesn't always work.

Recently I was reading up on Narcissistic Personality Disorder.  Over
and over again I came across comments of the form "The only way to deal
with these people is to avoid them whenever possible".  It is,
unfortunately, a condition that's incurable, because there's absolutely
no way to get the affected person to understand that they have a problem.

Please note the changed e-mail and web addresses.  The domain
eepjm.newcastle.edu.au no longer exists, and I can no longer
reliably receive mail at my newcastle.edu.au addresses.
The optusnet address still has about 4 months of life left.

Damn!  That blanket I shipped to P.G. didn't work.
Gotta try another virus, if you know what I mean.

Have you been taking lessons?  This is the most (nearly) intelligible
thing you've written in dogs' years.

The bits I ate are still stuck between my teeth, and tickling me.

Or understandably.
