Recently I was reading up on Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Over and over again I came across comments of the form "The only way to deal with these people is to avoid them whenever possible". It is, unfortunately, a condition that's incurable, because there's absolutely no way to get the affected person to understand that they have a problem.
