Will - 15 Mar 2006 10:01 GMT Has anyone seen Purl Gurl? If she handed in her notice, I didn't see it. Did someone give her her P45, and have her escorted from the premises by security?

I know, I know, don't prod a sleeping bear etc. However, she was nothing if not incorrigibly vociferous here for some time, and then nothing since March 6. I was worried she might be ill. Her website is, as far as I can tell, unchanged.

Patricia Pasterham - 30 Mar 2006 18:40 GMT When is she coming back? I'm dying to meet her, having heard so much about her. Although, with a name like "Purl Girl", she must be a bit of a knit. P.

One felt one ought to be sorry for her, but at the same time she made it hard to summon up sympathy.

Over and over again I came across comments of the form "The only way to deal with these people is to avoid them whenever possible". It is, unfortunately, a condition that's incurable, because there's absolutely no way to get the affected person to understand that they have a problem.
