I mean, the replics what they says to player at Doom 3. Examples: First cutscene is in Mars City Underground, where John (It must be player's name, because Doom, the movie, hero UAC-marine is called John) meets missing scientist. I understand this: "No! Listen to me..." and "...It's evil..." EnPro plant cutscene: John goes in the room, where the woman is crying, his name is Theresa. He says something that I don't understand, then his soul releases in her body and cutscene ends. Can someone tell me, where I can found what peoples says to John in the game? I tried to use Google, but I can't found any good page. Example 2: Level Mars City Underground, a z-security guard says: "Welcome to the dance marine..." This type replics I want.  SignatureWell... I don't know what you mean by "replics". This is not an English word. You should probably first mention who 'they' are before you ask what they 'say' (not 'says') to /the/ player /in/ Doom 3. Also, many people do not read the Subject: line when they're reading the post, so please restate it in the body of your post. 'He' and 'his' should only refer to John, but you seem to be using it to refer to Theresa. Why do you do that? You should use 'she' and 'her' to refer to females; use 'he' and 'his' to refer to males only. That last sentence should read, "This is the type of replics(sic) I want." It's Pauli's own coinage, whose closest counterpart in English probably is "line" as in m-w.com's meaning 2 d: "the words making up a part in a drama -- usually used in plural". However, the word would probably be easily understood by speakers of almost any Latin based language and many others, such as Finnish (Pauli's native tongue) - but not English. It could be a useful word in English as well, considering the plenitude of meanings for the word "line" and it's subtle difference in meaning compared to "line", but for some reason it doesn't seem to have found it's way into English. And word "replic", in the dictionary book, it reads like this: "repliikki" and same in English "lines" SignatureWell... Though the entire context is not presented, since dialog is indicated, I assume the author means "replies" (gives a reply, an answer or a response to). See Lars' reply above. After all, Swedish is an official language of Finland, and Finland was part of Sweden for hundreds of years. But it seems that you did not learn any other language than Finnish in school. (I had Swedish, English, German, and French, in that order.) |
