The name was changed in 1973. Belize became independent in 1981.

The paper's interests seem to be heavily slanted towards
tourism and tourists. It would be no surprise if the style of
English is chosen to appeal to the tourists.

covered by other local media.
The editors of the San Pedro Sun are Ron and Tamara Sniffin, if that
means anything to anyone.
