I am having a problem with a word, or actually having difficulties
using it in a sentence. The word is 'Extraneous'. I got the definition
for it, and I got a couple of examples, but they're kind of difficult
for me to understand the way to use it in a sentence. I have a test
next week and need to use it in a sentence. Thank god for my neighbors
with the internet!!! Can someone explain it to me in a very 7th grade
level so I can understand it.

thanks

It describes anything that is not bound up with an entity being
described. Beside the point. Something not connected with the key
question.

Thus, if one were to discuss whether global warming was really
attributable to humans, an extraneous issue would be whether meteors
really caused the extinction of dinosaurs.

If someone were to bring all their sporting gear to a contest and then
throw in a copy of their favourite comic, that would be extraneous.
