It is a wryly humorous way of saying that the wearer, even though not
a Shi'i mullah,  is boss of the city.  "Who's your daddy?" is an
invitation, not always serious, to acknowlege the pre-eminence of the
inviter.  Daddies, in this context, appear to have replaced the
traditional Uncles.

I think it's closer to "Big Daddy," morphed under the influence of
"Baghdad."
(Is there no hint that Papa's got a brand-new bagh?)

As you say, although I think they're all compatible. Anyway, the new
brand seems to be fading.  Papa will be looking around for some body
he can leave holding it and, if this goes on, they'll need a shirt
that says "nobodaddy".

"Baghdaddy" is a made-up word the combines "Baghdad" and "daddy."
"Baghdad" is the name of the capital city of Iraq, and "daddy" is an
informal term for "father."  I believe it is intended to convey that
the wearer went to Baghdad and in some way took charge of the
situation, much as a father would be in charge of family functions.
If I'm right, it indicates pride in what the wearer did in Iraq.

The female version would probably say "baghlady".

Unless she was a real piece of work, in which case, it might be
shortened to "bagh".

Or very young, in which case she would be a "baghuette".

Is that what Beethoven's baghuettelles are about? I thought they were
just bread-and-butter music.

The last composer to have any sort of commercial success with the bagatelle was
Pete Townshend....r

It means the wearer has an illegitimate child in the Mideast.
(If in the Midwest, the t-shirt just says "Daddy".)
