I want to write a letter to an institute for nominating a person for
another person. How to write this?

Ex: I would like to nominate Mr. A ................. Mr. B. (how to
fill the blank)

Sorry, but this doesn't make sense in English. You can't nominate John
for Bob, unless you mean something like "I would like to nominate John
to play Bob in the film about Bob's life" or "I would like to nominate
John to replace Bob as the CIO of this company".

Do you mean that you want to recommend John (Mr A) to Bob (Mr B)?  You
can do this if you'd like to tell Bob that John is a good guy and would
be a good person to hire for a certain job; e.g., "I would like to
recommend John for the CIO position at your company".

Please clarify your point and ask your question again, if I haven't
inferred your meaning correctly.

Do you mean recommend rather than nominate?
You nominate some for something like an award or to run for a political
office.

Thnks for your early replies.

This is the situation.

People at a remote office asked me to nominate 3 persons for 3 newly
created posts. I send names of 3 persons. I was rejected because that
person is on a leave. I have to nominate ( ? recommend) another person
for his place. I want to write a formal letter to tell them "I give you
this person for that person". Is it clear?

In that case, fill the blank with "in place of".

This is yet another illustration og how important providing context is when
asking questions.
