In a recent newspaper:

"...there could be calls for regulations, or even a call to stop the
marketing of horror movies to children in general."

Such a call would be a sort of "popular demand" for the closing of a
category of movie promotions (the trailers and posters being "free
samples"), but it hasn't happened yet.  Class action lawsuits seeking
the abatement of public nuisances are fairly common, but haven't
attacked promotional free samples AFAIK.
