Hello

Could anyone please help me grasp the meaning of "Posts" in the following
sentences:

1. Where no decision has been taken by NOK on method of disposal of remains,
Posts provide documentation as for cremation.

2. If bodies are repatriated to England and Wales, Posts should warn
families that it is probable that the Coroner will wish to hold an inquest.

I can't quite understand what the above-mentioned Posts are. Might they be
forwarding agents or their employees? If the explanation is that simple, why
is the word capitalised? It is not related to any particular company.

TIA

It would help if you said where this document came from, but if it is
an internal document of the FCO Consular Department, it probably means
"consular posts", ie British consuls or vice-consuls.

Mail to the addresses given in the headers is no longer being
read. To mail me, substitute "clara.co.uk" for "freeuk.com".

Indeed, it is an FCO Consular Department document entitled "Repatriation To
The UK of Human Remains".
My guess was wrong, your answer is right. At last the penny has dropped.
Thank you very much for your help.
