I've spent a lot of time on aue this evening, most of it in whittling
about 3900 posts down to a current count of 817. I managed to write
seven responses all the while.
As I progressed through the list (in date order, instead of alphabetical
by thread, which is my usual practice) I noticed responses very similar
to my own -- and better written and more interesting, too, if truth be
told.
However, my seven gems are going to be sent shortly. I feel
out-of-touch, and want you all to know that I have been working hard to
keep this group at the forefront of my life.
Not much else I can do, though. No bending, lifting,
driving-while-medicated ("doped up"), vacuuming, bed-making, or even
thinking too hard. Post-surgery is so *very* difficult. (Actually, it's
not much fun, but there are the Democratic primaries to keep me amused
at least some of the time.)

Hi, Tootsie, glad to see you back. Take it easy and let everyone else do
that stuff. And don't read the "Pain" thread yet.

But she's medicated -- she'll just wonder what all the fuss is about.

Believe it or not, I'm avoiding the prescribed pain medication now that
I'm home. I think it's too strong -- I'd end up sleeping my life away,
or doing something really out of character. (Hmm...) Tylenol and
Excedrin are my occasional friends, though.
Even so, I'll hold off on the Pain thread for a bit.

Good to see your name back in the "Author" column.

Take care, and don't hurt yourself laughing.
Best regards,

If I were in the habit of saying "Welcome back", I'd say it to you. As I
usually don't do it, I won't say it.
Aww, heck -- you deserve it -- Welcome back!

Sounds great to me too. Who wants to do any of those things? Shitfire,
except for the very occasional hoovering, I don't do any of them and I
haven't been operated on in years!
Missed you, Maria -- glad you're back. Don't forget to root for my man
Dr Dean next week, K?

I'm not sure where he'll be next week. Can he be found by rooting? I
didn't know that. <smile>
But sure, I'll wish him well. For the moment at least, I cannot think of
anyone better to run against President Bush than "Dr. Dean."
(Thanks for your kind words, though, Charles. Seriously.)

What about the general guy though? Dean seems pointless and annoying. If he
runs against Bush, I'll probably have to vote for Bush again. Not that I think
Bush hasn't done a decent job, but it could be time for a change.
