Did we do this yet?

A character asks, "And she is ...?"

Is that punctuated correctly?

Or should it be:

"And she is?"

Depends largely on dat ole debbil context:

A:  "I know just the woman for the job!"
 B:  "And she is ...?"

or

A:  "Her mother was never one to put up with nonsense."
 B:  "And she is?"

I this supposed to be helpful?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

In the first one, the listener is invited to fill in the blank.  In
the second one, "she" is contrasted with "her mother".  "Are you
saying that she, unlike her mother, will put up with nonsense?"  With
no blank, there's no ellipsis.

Given that you seem to have such difficulty understanding English or you
really sure you should be trying to write it?

Or you, for that matter.

You sentence doesn't make sense.

His sentence made perfect sense. Your deliberate changing of  "are" to "or"
causes the problem.
Your sentence, however...

Sorry, no, musika. Derek posted the same message twice, first with "or"
and then with the correction to "are".

Derek posted with a typo, spotted it and immediately superseded it. The
nature of usenet is that the superseding order took some time to
propagate, during which time EG replied, quite rightly, that my first
attempt made no sense. It's only usenet, nobody dies, though EG is now in
my kill-file.

Gee, can I have another chance?

I'll even laugh at your jokes.

It should be noted that like with cancel messages, many servers ignore
supersedes. It's probably best to make the correction via a follow-up
to avoid confusion.

Noted. Thanks.

Looks like he sent out a supersede message.

Well, I'm not sure who the other referant of "we" is, but I use the
Virginmedia text server.
I wonder if Derek cancelled the first message and our news-servers honoured
the cancellation before we dowloaded.

Yes, the referent of "we" was you.  Sorry, my bad.  I misread the headers.
Disregard my previous post, please.

Superseded rather than cancelled, and yes.

Who gives a flying fat man?

His comment was dumb ... both of them.

That's the point.

Next you'll accuse me of the Lindbergh baby kidnapping.

I didn't touch the guy's sentence.
