Hello All!
Has anyone else seen Roy Blount's fascinating new book, "Alphabet
Juice"? He seems to cover most of the last years' discussions in this
group and describes "The Energies, Gists, and Spirits of Letter, Words,
and Combinations Thereof: Their Roots, Bones, Innards, Piths, Pips and
Secret Parts, Tinctures, Tonics, and Essences: With Examples of Their
Usage Both Foul and Savory".
I don't know why but I keep suspecting that some of his quotes and
histories are like a good fraction of statistics: made up for the
occasion. Perhaps, it's just that he has read a lot more than me.

Wonder if he'll be plugging this book when "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me" returns
(I'm getting more than a little tired of "clip shows")....r

Nonetheless, his Southern accent makes him funnier to listen to than to
read.
