I don't need anyone to defend me. I really don't care what he says about
me. What is interesting, though, is how sensitive he is at being
discovered living at his mother's home, unable to support himself and
lying about himself. The lad chooses to make a fool of himself. I
respect his choice. He can continue without interference from me.

discussion on creative writing?
The shrinks call this "projection" and "transference", Murray.
You can't help it -- even though you're middle-age, you still have
mother issues.
"Put on clean underwear, Murray -- God forbid, you should get hit by a
car with those dirty ones on!"
Well, I'm not going to psychoanalysis you for free, Murray, so you can
forget about that.

'Landers' doesn't sound very Dutch,
and the family name is very rare in the Netherlands.
An immigrant, probably,
