Is that the epistolary one? Yes, but, to tell you the truth, I
confuse it a little now with _Fanny Hill_, which I read about the same
time. I liked _Tom Jones_ better.

yes, but from what I read _about_ Clarissa I'd not have expected them
to be easily confused; I read Fanny Hill when I was about 20 and was
very impressed, less so when I read it again 20 years later. Tom Jones
I enjoyed a lot -- I read it before the film was made, as my sister was
assigned it to read for her English class at school.
