I'm unhappy to report I'll be away from AUE until the facility I'm
moving to tomorrow gets wireless Internet capability. AUE discussions
were an important part of my life and, in time, I trust they will be
again. Good luck to all of you.

Thank you, James. I discovered today that I have access from a
pleasant room, with a degree of privacy. The problem, I suspect, will
be finding enough time. In any case, it is wonderful to hear from the
group once again.

Thank you. I hated the place at first, but now that I have met more of
the new people and have found my way to where the good meals are, I am
beginning to really enjoy it.

No usenet?
Bummer,

Hopefully it will be a short hiatus, being connected to the world through
the net is quite addicting.

I hope it gets resolved quickly.  In the mean time you might have a look
at what O2 or Vodaphone offer in the way of connection via their
networks.  The hardware is just a thing a bit bigger than a memory stick
that plugs into a USB port.  I know someone who was in the same bind as
you after moving house and they got one on a free 30 day trial by the
end of which they had a proper connection and they sent the gizmo back.

Good thing you are not Palestinian, for whom there is no right of
return.  Good thing you are not Charlie, for whom the Kingston Trio
sang:
Well, did he ever return? No, he never returned and his fate is still
unknown.
(What a pity! Poor ole Charlie.
So, come back soon to AUE, Chuck.  We will not be the same with you
away

Isn't it cool, though, that the MBTA (formerly the MTA) had the sense of
humour to call their fare card the "Charlie card"?

I hope you find a way to connect to the net soon. It can be very lonely
to lose touch with a group that you usually interact with regularly.

Much as I enjoyed the Kingston Trio's lyrics, AUE's members have seen
on at least three occasions -- I've lost count exactly how many --
that at least some Charlies return.

Best of luck to you. Hope you're back soon. Is there maybe an adjacent
network / hotspot on which you can piggyback? (With appropriate compensation
for the owner, natch).

Acting classes, road trips and various activities, Internet access and
other utilities, room and board and many of my daily essentials are
bundled into the flat amount I pay each month. Except for U.S. tax
computations, my personal bookkeeping is probably as simple as
bookkeeping can get.

Glad  you are back, Chuck.  You may want to look over posts for the past
few weeks, to see another "old friend" returned from the cold.  Franke
(Cypercypher) popped in, just for a day, and stayed a bit longer.  He is
as prickly as ever, but, as always has some great information.

His must have been one of the thousands of posts I marked read, for
practical reasons. He has made many thoughtful thread contributions in
the past, which I've enjoyed, even when he is prickly, so I hope we
see more of him.

Thank you; it is good to be back.
This time around, I vow to read your posts carefully before
disagreeing with one or more of your points. I've been burnt too often
in the past when I failed to be on my toes.

We bit off more than we could chew during our first experiments with
the art, taking on, at my suggestion, a scene from "Romeo and Juliet".
We improvised, alone and in pairs, some simple scenarios, as selected
by the director, the second time around, and things went better.

I wish I wasn't, but I'm thinking of Em.  Em, who was supposed to have
nine lives, passed out of this one just once.  Charles, has passed out
of the aue life with a count approaching nine.

By the time I'm reading this it's already tomorrow Over There, so
you may not see this, but Godspeed, good luck, and we'll welcome you
back when you return.
