Please help! Can some kind regular, more well-informed than I,
Explain why AUE should suffer just because of Jai.
The thread some f(r)igure started - aptly - at the crack of Dawn,
Escaping from the Maharaja, just drags on and awn.
Remind me, please, who uttered this cross-posted instrument,
Duplicitously duplicated, causing such dissent.
A minister of state for public health was criticised.
No wonder views of such a luvvie voice were polarised.
It seems the OP plumb forgot who started the shebang,
Expecting everyone to know the jargon of sci.lang.
Let me confess: I too forget when I am in my cups.
So now I've put my point across - take care with follow-ups.

For James and any other recent arrivals to AUE, the problem is that
neither Peter T. Daniels (aka grammatim) nor Purl Gurl (aka all sorts
of weird labels) knows how to stop responding to the other.  Even I am
better at that than either of them.  When you get two people, neither
of whom knows how to stop posting at each other, you get a thread
whose length approaches infinity.

There are some slight grounds for hope, however.  Eventually Mr.
Daniels becomes so annoyed with AUE that he de-crossposts us and goes
back to sci.lang only.  And Purl Gurl eventually decides that she's
toyed with us boys (sorry, ladies) long enough and goes away until she
feels the tug of AUE yet again.

Meanwhile, there is some slight entertainment to be had in engaging
Purl Gurl, and she has her defenders in AUE.  With one exception that
I can think of (obvious to anyone following the appropriate thread),
most AUE-ers either ignore Daniels or bait him in various ways.

It took me some time to realise that grammatim was Peter Daniels.
When I first saw his style of argumentation here I wondered if it
wasn't Seppo Renfors returning in a new guise.

I've killfiled PG.  I try to respond politely and as intelligently as I
can to PTD for as long as my temper lasts - whereup on I tend to lapse
into wide sweeping abuse rather that get actually worked up.
