All kinds of writing: essays, stories, expository, etc.

Okay, you've provided an answer, but I've forgotten the question and
for some reason I can't retrieve it on my server. It's much better to
leave some of the previous post in your reply so that people without
photographic memories and without access to the post being replied to
can see just what your post is reponding to. That way your answer would
make sense instead of being just a bunch of contextless words.
Different kinds of writing require different styles and have different
rules. Recipes don't require full sentences, but expository prose does.
Essays don't require dialogue, but stories usually do, even if it's
only reported (indirect) speech.
Now, just what was your original question? Mine was "What kind of
writing?" or something close to it.
