Resisting death, over-breeding, hoarding and gorging are expressions of
biological drives that are, under natural conditions, one-sided because
the control is provided by the environment.  Regenerative mechanism
within the organism may normally be controlled at the environmental
level.  These are cases in which the paradox of "What you want is not
what you want" is resolved by pointing out that there are two different
levels to the word "you": What you1 want  -  as a system consisting of a
single organism  -  is not what you2 want  -  a system consisting of
organism in environment.
