The person who has five ideas but throws out four of them because they
are wrong appears less creative than the person who has five ideas and
keeps them all because he does not realize they are wrong.

A prize arse and master of the profound exposition of the blindingly
obvious De Bono, nicely debunked in Francis Wheen's 'How Mumbo-Jumbo
Conquered the World'.
Hey Heron, are you ever going to respond to any of these raspberries we
blow you?

Well, maybe you could start by explaining the deep insight that the De
Bono quote illustrates.

That's a cop-out. You aren't here in connection with your job. You
either start a discussion, which means you join in, or you just post
an ad and run, which is spam.

PS, what is that actually supposed to mean Heron? I mean is that
wisdom? Why does the 5 - 4 bloke appear more creative? To whom? The
first guy's course of action sounds more like common sense but we all
do both things.
Have you been reading your horoscopes lately?
Woss it all mean, eh?
It all sounds scarily like a load of old cobblers.

I think the quote actually makes a lot of sense. As I read it, it is
pointing out that what is simply a lack of discrimination can be
mistaken for creativity and that productive creativity requires
discrimination among ideas.
