Hi all,

I wanted to let you know I've just started a website (non-commercial):
Laughing English - http://www.laughingenglish.com, to keep track of
really fun activities to do with your students.

I've posted over 20 of my own best activities, all categorized by
level/skills/grammar and I'd like to invite others to read them,
comment and vote on them (on the message boards underneath each
activity), and above all, to please post your own!

I started the site because I wanted to have a well-organized place
where lots of teachers could get together to come up with activity
ideas, and comment on them, and vote on the best ones.

I invite you to take a look, and I hope that some of the activities can
provide you with some laughs in your classrooms! If you like it, please
spread the word to other teachers. The more people use it, the more
activities there will be, and the more useful everybody will find it.

Cheers
Michael

Everything's okay now, Mike.  I've already posted some ideas: "I quit"
and the "thigamajig" one.  When I think up some more, I'll post them
and I hope to utilize some of the ones I read about in my lesson.
Again - a fantastic idea.  But you need to get it disseminated to other
foreign language (especially ESL) teachers.  By the way, e-mail:
ajhoge@gmail.com.  He has an ESL web site - the name has slipped my
mind.  Maybe you two could provide a link to each other's site.

Michael:  Yesterday I tried to post something on the "What's the
Question?" idea; but got one of those 'syntax errors' messages.
What I wanted to say was that I did this in my class last night and it
worked out VERY well!  After they answered my questions I asked them to
write their own questions; and while some of them remembered my
questions, some of them came up with some clever ones of their own.
For example, I asked the question, "Who do you look like?"  One of my
students gave back the question, "Who is your role model?"  I thought
that was very clever!  I gave her a 'good for you!' and applauded.  The
students really liked the lesson.  I really hope other teachers
discover your web site so we can share our ideas.  Oh, btw, I responded
to your response concerning my 'thigamagig' idea.  Please read it and
respond back.  I would also like to know how these ideas work out in
the class.  Sometimes our students are the best ones to give us ideas!
