I'm an Irish-Singaporean who wishes to apply for a teaching position
abroad. I have been teaching English for the past five years. I have
some years of experience in a number of established companies in
Singapore and the Maldives.

I am currently waiting for my results in Teachers of English Speakers
of Other Languages (T. E. S. O. L) from London and a certificate in
Educational Psychology.

Does anyone know where I can apply without having to first meet the
following requirement that I have to be a citizen of the following
countries:
Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom
and U.S.A. ?

A very useful job offer board can be found on dave's esl cafe.

Also, a new and very useful resource for ESL teachers can be found at
www.wartorozumiec.com .
It has a search engine restricted to hand picked educational sites
offering good materials, lesson plans etc.
on the website you will also notice a large and growing collection of
Learning Objects, platform independent exercises and lesson modules,
ideal for online teaching.
A nice collection of newsfeeds is also to be found, where news about
working overseas is plentiful. the website is also available at
www.wartorozumiec.eu

If you are Irish-Singaporean I would assume that you are eligible for
Irish citizenship (without having to give up you Singaporean citizenship
- at least under Irish law). If you are entitled to Irish citizenship
you are also entitled to live in the UK (or any European Union country).

In order to obtain a teaching position in the States you don't have to
be a citizen, only a resident, unless you are part of an exchange
program in which case residency status is not required.
To teach ESL you need a degree from an accredited university and
teaching credentials issued by the state where you are planning to
teach.

Well, not sure if you mean which countries can I work in... often
adverstisers state a preference for nationals of those particualr
countries, but this may mean they're are determined to get native
speakers, rather than there being a visa issue... but if you're looking
for job sites, as well as Daves ESL cafe, try
