English books say (a) is better than (b), but in Hollywood films, I
found (b) is more often said. Why? Just because it was oral English or
because there was too much excitement in the heroine?
a. There's a mouse in your kitchen.
b. A mouse is in your kitchen.

In my opinion both are acceptable although the context might be slightly
different.

All I would be prepared to say is that (a) is probably more common than
(b). Which grammar books say that (b) isn't as good as (a)?
