Hello,

after the recent statement by the Archbishop of Canterbury
about sharia law, a British tabloid headline read "What a burka".

I feel this title is some kind of pun, possibly relying on a different
word which sounds like "burka", or maybe just begins with a 'b'.
Could someone please cast some light?

Thanks in advance,
Leszek.

NB: I am asking out of pure language curiosity. Not knowing
the actual statement, I do not feel competent to discuss its content.

A burke is a stupid person.

A burka is a garment worn by some Muslim women.

Thank you; that was the missing link.

Best, L.
