Hello,

To avoid the new British Citizenship english exams, one needs to
demonstrate that they have at least "ESOL Entry Level 3".

Does anyone have any idea what the equivalent of this would be in some
of the other recognised qualifications or exams such as IELTS or
Cambridge?

About IELTS 6 (though it doesn't really map), Cambridge PET.

Mmmmmm - not sure I would equate PET with IELTS 6! IELTS 6 is university
entrance level, PET is lower intermediate.

Here are the equivalents according to a table I got last week: ESOL 3 =
Trinity grades 8-9 = IELTS 5.0-5.5 = FCE

Hi Datsy.  I'm probably thinking of the various students I get from
countries which will be nameless (C****) who have IELTS 6 and above but
who'd have problems getting PET.  Or KET come to think of it.
