A human being is part of the whole, called by us "Universe";  a part
limited in time and space.  He experiences himself, his thoughts and
feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical
delusion of his consciousness.  This delusion is a kind of prison for
us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few
persons nearest to us.  Our task must be to free ourselves from this
prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living
creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
  - Albert Einstein

gendo: a way of thinking...
language as a path to liberation...

.unconscious, erroneous assumptions imposed upon our thinking
by the structure of the language (english) running in our
skulls are responsible for most of what is wrong with the
world in both the personal and planetary domains

.let's talk

when:  wednesday and saturday afternoons, between 3 and 5
where: the cafe at Borders Books (91 at Bloomfield in Cerritos)

.look for the black and red gendo logo on my dark blue notebook
that will be on the table

You didn't say what you thought of my suggestion about working the
ideas up with children.

.i'm sorry Mike

.i intended to but got side-tracked and then forgot about it...
you know...  good intentions and all that

.what you suggested is part of what i've been thinking about.

.one problem i've run into, is the merely "telling"a student
about the principles of gendo, doesn't produce the results
   i'm interested
.understanding it doesn't make any difference

.students must be led to discover it for themselves
.this takes a lot longer and more patience than i sometimes
   possess

.but children are the key and finding ways into the existing
school system would be very useful

.thanks for your ideas
