This morning, on Sky Text, I saw a report of a trial. It quoted the
judge as saying that a murder had been perpetuated.

The reporter must have been falling asleep as he was typing out his
report. Or, the judge must have been nodding off as he was typing out
the verdict.

It may work in French: "Ces nymphes, je les veux perpétuer" the first
line of L’Après-Midi d’un faune, is usually translated as "I would
perpetuate those nymphs." I wonder what Mallarmé was thinking of?
