I am working on a Dutch-English translation of a work related presentation and I can't think of the English equivalent to what we call in Dutch 'white goods', i.e. large household appliances, such as fridges, washing machines, microwaves etc. Can anybody help me out with this, please? Well, there was I thinking it was hallmarked solid silver! You'll be telling me next that the silver hairs increasingly evident amongst the gold aren't real either...but what about the gold?
