Hi,
For my doctoral research I'm looking at how people process
language. I'm running an experiment on-line, which I thought might be of
vague interest here. If you you fancy taking part, please click on the URL
below.
It should take about 15 minutes. Even it says native speakers only, anyone
can take part.

It only works on internet explorer though - SORRY - don't flame me.
Hope you can help!

Ooops, sorry, missed out a word there. Should be:
"Even THOUGH it says native speakers only, anyone
can take part."

See, I told you that would happen if you use internet explorer.

When I click the "on to the second task" button at the bottom of the form
for info about myself, the next page just says "You have an error in your
SQL syntax near 'and MaxSentences > 60 group by Lists.ListNo order by times
limit 1' at line 1".

What about where a sentence is grammatically correct but doesn't make sense
because eg the Royal Air Force doesn't have the rank of captain ?

Is there any indication from the context whether Flight Lieutenant or Group
Captain might be intended?

Hi,
Thanks for pointing that mistake out.
I can't find my original message on this newsgroup and only this reply, but
I just want to apologise for the computer blip that meant that several
people received an error message after entering their details, rather than
being directed to the experiment proper.
It has now been fixed, and if anyone's still interested in participating
then please visit
http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~hre21/chunking1a/IntroOriginal.htm .
Thanks again for your feedback - more can be sent to
heleneast_research@hotm-REMOVETHIS-ail.com (maybe a better option, since I
can't seem to pick up all the messages here).
