Hello, I'm a guy learning English and I have some short audio samples
(about 10 sec each) with some words in it I can't catch exactly.
The files are located at http://xoomer.virgilio.it/deci75/
and the problematic parts should replace "????" :

sample_01.mp3: ... hunting around the mediterranean basin ?????

sample_03.mp3: ... not the star she thinks she should have been ????

sample_05.mp3: ... intentionally spiteful ???

sample_07.mp3: ... several affaires ????

sample_08.mp3: I think ?????

sample_10.mp3: ?????

Can someone help me decipher that ? Thanks

I had nothing better to do, so:

and even up to the Azores and places.

I mean, she certainly isn't Gertrude Lawrence, by any means... And she's
well over the hill by now. So she's not going to make it.

> sample_05.mp3: ... intentionally spiteful ???
No, he's an international gossip columnist, no more serious than that.

> sample_07.mp3: ... several affaires ????
And one rather "helpful" one... and she now runs a hotel.

> sample_08.mp3: I think ?????
I think he's too clever by half. I mean, it just maddens me, but, I
mean, then I have to be incredibly charming to him because I want him to
keep quiet about the whole thing. I think I find him very long-winded
about it all.

> sample_10.mp3: ?????
The measured tread of Monsieur Poirot moved steadfastly, as ever,
towards the scene of the crime.

> Can someone help me decipher that ? Thanks
Don't mention it. You owe me five minutes.
