Phrase meaning request

Well, hello, I'm italian, and I'm searching for the meaning, in other
words, of this:

"until end of business today"

in example,

"UPS said they would only hold the article over for you until end of
business today so you must act quickly."

It effectively means "closing time, today" and if you arrive
after I have locked the cash register, you're too late!
