I just wonder is there a list of 20,000 most frequently used English words? I think my vocabulary is around 15,000 and I have no problem reading English literature in general. However, from time to time I met unfamiliar words, so I think maybe I should simply spend sometime ...

Seldom do I see anyone, anymore, use "because" in everyday, informal writing. More often I see "cuz" or "cos". This irritates me. Exactly how acceptable are these usages, if at all? Another question is: Are the sentences above and the current sentence

I am trying to settle an argument and need a clear explanation between "yes-no" question and "true-false" question. I know one is an auxiliary verb question and the other is a statement but I am having problems explaining and proving this to a year 4

I just came across "forecasted" in a publication, and it does seem to be written that way intentionally, and not a mistake. I would have thought "forecast" is the only possible form. Is "forcasted" considered correct ? And if so, is it correct
