Firstable sorry for my english, but I hope to explain in the most clearly
way which are my doubts .
I'm italian and in my language there is a substandard (the purists call it
"not grammatical") use of the conditional:

I was watching the film "About a boy" the other day and I distinctly heard
Hugh Grant say "I think we beat the rat there, mate." This is obviously an
idiom - one on which my dictionaries are suspiciously silent, and so is
[1].

when we stayed at this hotel we thought we was getting value for money. how
wrong we was when we got there. the room was unclean very cold dirty and
smelled of poo poo! we was right next to a very busy and noisy street. there
