I have a Polish guest in my house, and she has been asking me about the
difference between 'this weekend' and 'next weekend'. Midweek, she would
expect 'this weekend' to refer to the coming weekend, and 'next weekend'
to the one after. In my opinion, they both refer to the coming ...

There seems to be a change of usage in progress whereby 'goods' is being
replaced by 'good'.
SOED p. 1125 gives:
3 (property and possessions) Now only in pl.
